Ultimately when we are designing anything for example a logo, pamphlet or business card, we want to create an emotion so that when people see the design they just go "yeah"; it feels right or I know what that is. We want to associate that feeling be it consciously or sub-consciously with the product, service or business and try to convey a message to the viewer. Branding can play a big role in the success of your business. Consistency across your brand is very important in getting customers to connect with your brand.
